After completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, I began my career at Royal Perth Hospital in 1998. Since then, my journey has taken me interstate and overseas, with roles ranging in bedside care, to corporate positions and hospital redevelopment.
Following further studies in management and human resource management, my career transitioned into healthcare leadership and management. I am passionate about cultivating a positive workplace culture and I believe that when workplaces are respectful, collaborative, and united by a shared vision, they can achieve remarkable outcomes. These teams consistently exceed patient expectations at every encounter. I see my role as developing and mentoring my team and by offering them opportunities to enhance their skills, fostering autonomy, and building mutual trust, I know they will, in turn, provide exceptional care to our patients.
I currently hold the position of General Manager and Director of Nursing at Concept Fertility and Day Hospital, a standalone purpose-built facility in Subiaco WA. With over 26+ years of nursing experience I’ve worked across many areas of healthcare, but fertility has proven to be my most significant challenge thus far. The learning curve has been steep, but I’m passionate about my job, and proud of the exceptional team that we’ve built, with plans to continue growing in the future.
Concept has taught me a great deal about the day hospital space and the unique challenges faced by the industry. It has also connected me with a wonderful network of like-minded professionals from across the country, and I especially enjoy the
camaraderie this creates.
