Proposed removal of medicines from Part D of the Prostheses List effective 1 July 2025

Day Hospitals Australia believes that proposed removal of medicines from the prostheses list will add additional costs to hospital treatment as they may not be assured cover by the PHIs.

Predominately the medicines used in the day hospital sector are the fibrin glues used in Ophthalmology for pterygium and conjunctival surgery and in general surgery, particularly for hernia repair.
